Full-Time Teacher for Key Stage 1 SEND Class

Location: Chesterfield
Start Date: January 2024 or as soon as possible
Position Type: Full-Time - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher with experience in SEND education? Do you have the skills and enthusiasm to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

We are seeking a qualified and experienced teacher to join our team and lead a Key Stage 1 class within our Integrated Resource Unit at a mainstream primary school in Chesterfield. This role offers the chance to work with a small group of children with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of each child, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.

Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages engagement and progress.

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs).

Use effective behaviour management strategies to support children with Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties.

Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly ASD, ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties.

A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and the ability to adapt it to meet the needs of learners with SEND.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A positive, patient, and resilient attitude.
