Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEND Experience Required)

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Start Date: April 2025

Salary: £90- £95 per day

About the Role:

Tradewind in Bury is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive primary school environment, helping to make a positive impact on the educational journey of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting children's learning, a strong understanding of SEND, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure all students can reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Support children with SEND in the classroom, providing tailored assistance to meet their individual learning needs.
Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and provide one-to-one or small group support as necessary.
Work closely with the class teacher to adapt lesson materials and activities to ensure inclusively.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Create a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support a strong school community.
Assist with behaviour management strategies and ensure that all students are treated with dignity and respect.The Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary school setting.
Understanding of a variety of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and emotional/behavioural difficulties.
A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude towards supporting children with additional needs.
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with children, staff, and parents.
A positive attitude, with a genuine passion for working in education.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEND-specific training) are desirable but not essential.Why Join Us?
