HSE Manager – Civil Engineering & Groundworks

Location: Exeter

Rate: £350 - £450 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Temp to Perm

A leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join their team on a high-profile project in Exeter. This role starts on a contract basis, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position if preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

* Implement and oversee health, safety, and environmental policies on-site

* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards

* Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments

* Provide guidance and training to site teams to promote a strong safety culture

* Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions where necessary

* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to maintain high safety standards

Requirements:

* Proven experience as an HSE Manager in the civil engineering or groundworks sector

* Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations

* NEBOSH Construction or equivalent qualification

* Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and site inspections

* Excellent communication and leadership skills
