One of our clients, a growing medical device testing company, is looking for an Analytical Chemist to join their team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract to cover Maternity Leave. The primary aim of this role is to assist in the development of analytical

hods appropriate for the medical device testing, along with report writing and assisting in the development of SOPs.

The Role

* Assist the Senior Analytical Chemist/Team Leader in development of appropriate methods with respect to sample preparation and analytical systems (e.g. HS-GCMS, GC-MSD, HPLC).

* Maintenance of lab cleanliness and chemical storage.

* Function as a team member throughout projects.

* Assist in data acquisition, protocol development and report writing.

* Assist in development of an accessible chemical inventory

* Quality and accuracy of work

* Time management and project planning effectively

* Effective communication with the team about any issues in the company Lab

* Good collaboration with the team about the needs in the company’s chemistry department

* Assist the team in developing and performing testing as per the company needs

Health & Safety: To help develop a culture of safe working practices and manage health and safety risk within the company.

Experience Required

* Practically and theoretically trained on the fundamentals of GC and/or HPLC operation and quantitation.

* Understanding of MSD Chemstation software

* Ability to apply knowledge of chemical principles and information from literature to devise analytical methods.

* Understanding of the importance of H&S with regard to chemical storage and handling

* Trained to ISO 17025

* Chemistry BSc or MSc required
