WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE

Job description and responsibilities

The role of Warehouse and Provisioning Operative is within the warehouse and will provide support and assistance to existing team members. It will cover all day-to-day activities undertaken within the warehouse and in the provisioning of routers (a non-technical, procedural activity which is undertaken for key Service Provider customers).

The hours or work are 9.00am to 5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch.

Qualification and experience required

* Some experience of working within a warehouse environment and using warehouse equipment such as pump trucks and shrink wrapping.

* Must be able to lift and carry boxes of equipment up to approximately 20Kgs each.

* Must be computer literate for basic use, such as spreadsheets and email.

* Good communication skills.

* Good time management skills and a strong regard for timescales and punctuality.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your principal responsibilities will include:

1. Responsibilities will be within the warehouse. These will include, but will not be limited to:

1. Goods-in - receiving and booking in goods from suppliers.

2. Highlight any quantity discrepancies immediately.

3. Make sure customer orders are dispatched within a timely fashion, using handheld terminals to pick and pack and using appropriate packing materials for safe transportation.

4. Maintain prescribed safety requirements in warehouse.

5. Stocktaking – using all current company procedures to ensure stock numbers are accurate for quantity, value and location.

6. Filing of goods-in/despatch paperwork in a tidy and logical manner.

7. Keeping all areas in the warehouse neat and tidy.

8. Any other reasonable work, as required by company.
