Full-Time (40 hours/ week – Monday to Sunday)
Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to engage with our client base - predominantly adult residents (aged 18 to 65) with acquired brain injury and / or a history of substance misuse.
Key Tasks:
* The post holder will be responsible and accountable for carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the post with due regard to the Company’s Policies and Procedures and social work values
* Manage a number of Care and Support staff as determined by the Unit Manager, leading shifts as required including delegation of duties to staff
* Provide staff with full competent supervision in all aspects of their work and guidance in the pursuit of their duties
* Facilitate participation in training and development and assist staff to understand the relevance of training to their roles and duties
* To assist in the development and execution of person-centred plans for clients that maximise their personal strengths and skills to achieve positive and agreed outcomes
* With the Registered Manager ensure compliance with all Care Standards, Health and Safety Legislation, guidance and procedures
* Production of and contributing to the maintenance of accurate and concise records and reports as appropriate or defined, ensuring that team members contribute as required
* As required, data collection for the overall purpose of monitoring, reviewing and improving the standard of service delivered by High View.
* Contribute to the continuing development of the Unit and undertake professional development as appropriate
* Ensure good communication within the Unit, wider company, care networks and community.
* To promote and adhere to the workplace values of integrity, honesty, transparency and commitment to doing what is best for our clients, employees and the company
* Attend meetings as required and receive monthly supervision from High View management
* Work closely in collaboration with key workers and managers to implement the agreed strategies into everyday practice
* To assist residents who need help with any aspect of personal care
* To help residents with mobility problems and other disabilities including incontinence, and to help in the use of and care of aids and personal equipment
* To care for residents who may be temporarily sick or who need end of life care
* To help produce and/or implement activities aimed at promoting individual client cognitive / emotional / behavioural rehabilitation or wellbeing
* To strive to help each resident achieve the highest level of independence they can possibly achieve
* To ensure that client data information is lawfully gathered, accurate and up-todate and only divulged in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Failure to apply these duties can lead to court proceedings
* To participate in reviews with service users in order to develop mutually agreed outcomes for issues resulting from their physical/psychological impairment
* To deputise for Registered Manager as required
* To undertake any other duties as directed from time to time to meet the needs of the service.
Experience
* Experience of working with vulnerable adult groups with acquired brain injury or history of substance misuse
* A caring individual who is compassionate about providing care and support to Vulnerable people
* Supervisory Experience in residential or community setting
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary setting ▪ Experience of maintaining computerised and paper based records
