We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and prestigious manufacturing company based in Kings Lynn. Due to their continued success and development, they are looking to employ a Chemical Process Operators to join their Production Team.

£33,464 per annum
42 hours per week
7-day rotary shift pattern (days, nights, & weekends)
12-hour shifts (7am-7pm & 7pm-7am)
Please note whilst training they may be placed on our 5-day 3-shift pattern at £27,318 per annum, 40 hrs per week, Mon-Fri worked 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, or 11pm-7am.
Possible opportunities to work 5-day shift pattern permanently at a salary of £27, 319 per annum – 40 hours per week.

Purpose of the role:
The main purpose of this role is as a key member of a team of Operators dedicated to production of polymers and related intermediates for further use on site. The Process Operator is responsible for running reactors, making paste and activities related to the successful operation of the area. Process Operators must be able to carry out these activities safely but also in an accurate and timely manner to manufacture the product to the right specification.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
Monitor and control the operation of equipment in the Polymer and Paste area, adjusting parameters as required to successfully manufacture product.
Conduct routine inspections and tests on equipment to ensure proper functioning and detect any abnormalities or malfunctions. Any issues must be raised to the Engineering team immediately.
Respond to alarms, abnormal readings, or other indications of potential issues or emergencies and take appropriate corrective actions.
Follow detailed operating procedures, batch logs and protocols to ensure safe and efficient operation of the equipment in the area and manufacture of high-quality products.
Perform in-process physical and analytical testing of batches being manufactured.
Accurate and timely completion of process and EHS log sheets
Adhere to Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental procedures in the area to prevent accidents and minimise risks.
Communicate with Management and Engineers regarding operational issues, equipment performance, and potential improvements or optimisations.
Maintain required standards of plant housekeeping to ensure safe and efficient working practices.
Assist with trial batches, both in the main reactor and the pilot area.
Management and stock rotation of raw materials and consumables within the Paste Area.
Procurement of analytical solutions from R&D and Stores.

Strong work ethic with an ability to quickly learn new skills.
Previous experience in a manufacturing / process operation role with laboratory experience would be advantageous but not necessary.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer literate (including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel).
Motivation to learn and develop new skills – keen to pursue a career in manufacturing.
Must show analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well in a team.
Attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks to a high level of accuracy and consistency.
Awareness of health and safety.
Education and Qualifications:
Maths and English GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
Chemistry/Physics GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) would be desirable.
