Job Title: SEN Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Contract: Maternity Cover, Full-Time

About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher for a maternity cover position at a well-regarded primary school in Hinckley. The role involves teaching children aged 7-11 with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support and delivering high-quality, inclusive lessons to help students thrive both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven experience in working within UK primary schools. You will work closely with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop and implement individualised learning plans and ensure that each student receives the support they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to children with a range of SEN, including learning difficulties, communication challenges, and behavioural needs.
Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to plan and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students.
Provide regular assessments and feedback on student progress to parents and the wider school team.
Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes both academic achievement and personal development.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring that students feel supported and encouraged to succeed.
Contribute to the wider school community and attend relevant meetings and training as required.
Essential Criteria:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Proven experience teaching in a UK primary school setting, with a focus on SEN teaching.
A current DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to obtain one.
A strong understanding of the needs of children with SEN, including strategies for differentiation and support.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
