About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Worcestershire. This is a permanent position, offering the chance to play a key role in helping young people develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting students with SEMH needs in both one-to-one and small group settings
* Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
* Managing challenging behaviours with patience and positive reinforcement strategies
* Encouraging students to develop self-confidence, independence, and emotional resilience
* Creating a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement personalised support plans
* Supporting students with personal care needs (if required)
Key Requirements
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (preferred)
* A good understanding of behaviour management strategies
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
* A calm, resilient, and patient approach to challenges
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development
* A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
