Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Learning Support Practitioner with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children?
We are looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to cover a maternity leave starting 10th February 2025 at a Secondary School in Coventry. The successful candidate will support and deliver lessons to students with Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA), focusing primarily on enhancing literacy skills. This role provides the opportunity to engage with diverse learners, offering continuity and support during the maternity leave period. Roles and Responsibilities:

Take responsibility for the support of individuals or groups of students, enabling them to develop appropriate academic skills, including literacy and numeracy.

Work with individuals or groups to ensure they can access learning and make progress.
*
Prepare and adapt materials and resources to enable students to access learning in response to their needs.
*
Promote and support the inclusion of all students with specific needs, including participation in enrichment activities.
*
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and students to support ongoing development and adjust learning strategies as needed.
Requirements:
* HLTA Status: HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
* Experience with EBSA: Previous experience working with students exhibiting Emotional Based School Avoidance is advantageous.
* Literacy Support Skills: Strong understanding of literacy strategies and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
* Excellent Communication Skills: Proven ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
* SEND Experience: Knowledge of special educational needs and relevant training is desirable.
* Passion for Education: A commitment to providing high-quality support to students and contributing positively to their educational journey.
