Forming partnerships to freight manage their client's global business leaving the client free to concentrate on its own core business. We are now recruiting for an Ocean Trade Assistant to join the sea freight forwarding team based in Birmingham, near Birmingham airport

We're looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong background in ocean freight to join our team. In this role, you will be working closely with our pricing team and trade managers to support with short-term rate negotiation and rate guidelines as well as coordinating with operations teams on booking escalation and resolution. If you have experience in ocean freight, excellent communication skills, and a knack for problem-solving, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
* RFQ coordination and rate population
* RFQ 2nd and 3rd round analysis and benchmarking
* Support trade managers with spot and short-term rate negotiation
* Support trade managers with managing carrier allocations
* Coordination with Operations team on booking escalation and resolution
* Cover for trade managers during absence/leave etc
* Liaise with pricing team on rate guidelines

Experience required:
* Ocean freight background is essential
* Good knowledge of Ocean carrier landscape
* An understanding of ocean market and trades
* Strong communication skills
* Strong process and systems awareness
* Excellent attention to detail

Package and Benefits:
