The Role
We are looking to appoint to the role of Curriculum Manager for Science. As a member of the school management team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the successful planning, implementation, and delivery of all aspects of the Science curriculum. This position involves extensive knowledge and understanding of the curriculum and will require subject specialism to ensure the successful implementation of quality assurance and standards. The role will include operational management of staff and students to achieve the curriculum, school and college key performance indicators.
You will provide academic planning and operational support at curriculum level and have specific responsibility for developing and overseeing student progress and achievement practice, including supporting the Head of School Sixth Form and Science in staffing, timetabling, curriculum planning and sequencing, alongside quality assurance practices within the colleges Quality Cycle.
As part of this post you will be required to teach on the science curriculum, utilisation hours will be agreed with the Head of School Sixth Form and Science.
What we are looking for
Applications are invited from candidates who have an up-to-date knowledge and experience of the curriculum area; the ability to teach Physics would be an advantage. This must include understanding of curriculum structures, sequencing and quality assurance processes.
You must be qualified to degree level or have a relevant professional qualification at level 4 or above as well as a recognised teaching qualification at Level 4 or above. Successful experience of managing people is also desirable.
