The Role: Marketing and Communications Manager Southend Based – Salary £33,000 9 month contract
The Marketing and Communication Manager’s role is to establish and promote a creative centre of excellence within the department. The role is pivotal in revolutionising all aspects of the clients marketing and communications.
You will lead on creating and building the clients brand that mirrors their vision. You will do this by having strategic vision, be highly creative and passionate throughout.
Job Responsibilities
To take strategic responsibility and provide operational management to the Marketing department through the implementation of an effective Marketing and Communications Strategy.
Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns: Plan and implement multi-channel campaigns (digital, social media, PR, email, etc.) to reach and engage target audiences.
Content creation and storytelling: Develop compelling content (blog posts, videos, social media posts) that showcases the clients unique experiences and brand values.
With the Director of Marketing & Communications agree cogent positioning strategies for the clients core offer.
To work collaboratively with the admissions team to support conversion of enquiry through to enrolment through outstanding levels of customer service and communication.
Ensure market research and intelligence are underpinning elements to the marketing strategy and the evaluation of impact of the strategy. This should include areas such as stakeholder perceptions, competitor analysis, applications, enrolment trends, labour market intelligence etc.
Identify emerging issues of significance in terms of the clients reputation and the impact on its key audiences and partners.
Crisis communications: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to protect the brand's reputation in challenging situations.
To respond to adhoc media and profiling enquiries as they arise.
To lead on the clients web presence and the future development of its website.
The production of a wide range of customer focused online copy is regarded as being equally as important as print and you will need to produce suitable copy that will be highly ranked on search engines.
You will be a strong copywriter, have a strong eye for information design and or be able to keep up to date with changes in technology and evolving approaches to communications and information provision.
The ability to develop positive professional relationships is a key attribute to the role.
You will be ultimately responsible for the timely distribution of publications and must ensure that distribution is clearly planned and monitored.
The Candidate
Qualifications
A Degree or professional qualification or equivalent experience.
A Certificate in marketing (or similar Level 4)
Experience/Knowledge
Social media experience with a proven ability to analyse data, formulate messaging and communicate information effectively with audiences.
Experience of creating brand identity
Experience of managing a budget
Analytical - using various analytics platforms to measure effectiveness and plan new strategies
Strong proficiency in understanding traditional and emerging communication channels
Experience of aligning operational activities with strategic goals.
Possess an understanding and knowledge of running advertising/media campaigns to promote organisations in the local/regional demographic
