We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Electrical Operative to join our Area 7 account in Nottingham, East Midlands . This role will be based on site at Nottingham - Sandiacre (NG105ND).
Working with National Highways, Amey maintains over 700 kilometres of roads across the East Midlands, ensuring the 4.5 million citizens across the East Midlands experience better journeys every day. We provide maintenance and response across a vast area of some of the UK's busiest motorways and strategic highways across the east midlands and north of England. As many as 180,000 vehicles a day use certain sections of this vital network.
The standard hours of work are 45 hours per week. The shift pattern consists of rotating day and night shifts, Monday - Friday.
You will be responsible for:
Responsibility for the security of plant, tools and materials
Responsible for the safe use of vehicles
Responsibility for wearing all PPE
Responsible for own health and safety and that of the public
Responsible for achieving own performance targets
Adhering to and working to Amey Values
Working outdoors in an environment of varying temperatures
Attendance at regular toolbox talks and required training.
Any other tasks as required / necessary commensurate with the role.
There will be a requirement to work some unsociable hours and overtime and to undertake emergency call out and standby when required.
Manage and operate depot activities which include but are not limited to: putting the street lighting crews to work where needed on holiday cover, depot duties which range from the depot checks to organising of deliveries, maintenance of the stock including ordering and monthly counts, creation of lighting asset IDs using the vinyl printer which can also stretch to the making of advance notice TM signs with appropriate notice.
Help and advise on technology defect booking requirements where required. The position offers an amazing opportunity to be enrolled onto an adult apprenticeship LVL 2 & and then moving to LVL3 to become a full Electrician.
We want to hear from you if you have:
A full UK driving licence.
Problem solving skills.
Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office packages.
Knowledge of Project Management.
Self-motivated and pro-active in terms of delivering solutions.
Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and be able to manage stakeholders at all levels.
