We have a fantastic opportunity at a great school within the Stockport area are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Secondary Science Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join their dynamic and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for Science and the ability to inspire and engage students in this vital subject area.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess Science lessons in line with the curriculum for Key Stage 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5 depending on the applicant's experience and expertise).
Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Tailor lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
Prepare students for internal and external assessments, including GCSEs.
Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching and learning practices.
Participate in staff meetings, parent evenings, and other school events.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in your care.
Uphold the school's values, policies, and procedures.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
A degree in Science or a related field, PGCE QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
Experience teaching Science at Secondary level (Key Stage 3 & 4), with a proven track record of student achievement.
A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications in Science.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
A passion for Science and a commitment to student progress.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
A positive, professional approach to classroom management.
A commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable Qualities:
Experience teaching A-Level Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) would be advantageous but not essential.
Specialism in one of the major science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
A creative approach to teaching and learning.
An interest in extracurricular science activities (e.g., clubs, trips, competitions).
