Head of Finance Operations

Salary: £125,000 - £150,000 (plus outstanding benefits)

Location: Greater Manchester (Hybrid)

Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a permanent strategic Head of Finance Operations for an instantly recognisable, leading, reputable and long established financial services organisation based in Greater Manchester.

This unique opportunity has arisen due to an internal promotion and this pivotal role within the team will be responsible for leading a sizable team of 90 (5 direct reports), responsible for the provision of overseeing all financial operations and ensuring the efficient and effective management of financial processes and systems.

You will play a key role in driving the financial performance of the organisation by providing strategic financial advice, analysing financial data, and implementing best practices to optimise financial operations. This is a critical leadership position that requires exceptional analytical skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Overall responsibilities:-

Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial procedures and enhance efficiency.
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
Lead and manage the resources delivering inputs to the close process.
Review, overlay and oversee adjustments to the postings from the sub-ledger including reconciliations.
Oversee the delivery of a complete and closed ledger to the consolidation team.
Oversee cost and project accounting activity.
Oversee tax accounting activity.

The successful individual will be able to marry tactical delivery with the company's strategic vision and will establish credible, inspirational leadership for the team, as well as the varied and complex stakeholder management at a time of an exciting transformational journey.

The successful applicant will be a fully qualified ACA/ ACCA/CIMA senior professional either making their first move from a top4 firm and/or from a similar role, with extensive experience in financial management and operations within a financial services or a regulated industry.

Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to shape, lead and successfully manage large teams is essential coupled with great communication skills, both face-to-face and report writing including the ability to present complex information clearly and accurately.

The ability to communicate in a professional and influential manner with colleagues, senior Executives and managers, committees and to third parties is a must. Therefore you must be confident to challenge with a view to making improvements and be able to influence peers and drive through change.
