Job Title: Bid Writer/Business Development Manager
  
Salary: £30-£40k plus benefits depending on experience
  
Role: My client are an established and secure regional build and refurbishment main contractor with their main office on Plymouth.  They are looking for a Bid Writer to lead the Bid Writing and Business Development activities, ensuring that all submissions are completed professionally and within the timeframes. Support contract management functions and marketing efforts, contributing to the growth and operational success.

Main tasks 

Lead and manage the preparation of supplier tender enquiries, including Selection Questionnaires (SQs), Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Ensure all submissions are accurate, complete, and comply with the tender requirements.
Oversee maintenance and updating the ‘Bid Library’ with key company information, responses, and content for future reference.
Collaborate with Company Directors to drive business growth, set objectives, and identify opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing clients.
Attend industry conferences, meetings, and events to promote the company.
Oversee ISO integrated management systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001) annual audits.
Oversee compliance requirements across Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSiP) portals including CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline, Salus, and SSG Assessed.
Work with the Operations Manager to establish best practices, workflows, and standard operating procedures to ensure optimum participation in project management tools.
Create engaging content for various communication channels, including the website, social media, and internal platforms.
Create case studies and marketing materials to support business development and client engagement activities.
Create regular reports and data analyses to track performance, monitor bid success rates, and business growth metrics.
Provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team based on bid outcomes and market research. Key Behaviours/Attitudes/Personality required:

Ideal candidate must live within an easy daily commute of Plymouth
