Job Title: Senior Electronic Design Engineer

About the Role: Join our dynamic team as a Senior Electronic Design Engineer in Torquay! We are looking for a talented individual with a diverse skill set in both analogue and digital electronics, covering hardware and firmware design for embedded microprocessor systems (ARM-based). This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative modules and sub-systems for various market segments, including industrial, aerospace & defense, and bio-photonics.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead electronic design engineering from concept through to manufacture and testing.
Conduct requirements analysis and develop specifications for electronic sub-systems.
Design laser drivers, optical detection circuits, and digital control electronics.
Produce and maintain embedded firmware/software for opto-electronic sub-systems.
Perform reliability and parts stress analysis, as well as obsolescence management.
Collaborate with Business Development and Engineering teams to explore new opportunities and generate solutions for customers.
Support gate reviews and manage the handover process from design to production.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Proven industrial experience in an electronics design and development function.
Strong background in analogue, digital, and mixed signal circuit design.
Experience in firmware/software development for ARM-based microcontrollers.
Proficiency in schematic capture and layout (e.g., Altium).
Familiarity with prototyping and laboratory test equipment.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering.
