JOB- Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION- Cambridge
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £35,000 to £50,000

Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading company in Cambridge that specialises in electro-mechanical products. This role involves designing and developing precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components, working closely with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams to bring innovative products to market.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
Experience in mechanical and electro-mechanical design
Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and product assembly
Understanding of electro-mechanical integration and product lifecycle development
Ability to produce detailed technical drawings, GD&T, and BOMs
Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset
Experience working within a manufacturing or R&D environment
Good communication and collaboration skillsThe Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

Designing and developing electro-mechanical products and precision components
Producing 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation
Collaborating with electronics, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration
Conducting design reviews, prototyping, and testing
Ensuring designs meet industry standards and customer requirements
