We have been retained by a specialist manufacturing company based in the Manchester area to source a Head of Manufacturing to improve their current operation and position the business for future growth. This organisation is in the process of establishing itself as a leader in its field. A fantastic opportunity to help to implement and drive improvements across a growing SME Manufacturer, that is now part of a larger group.

Heading up a multi-disciplined team in a multi process manufacturing environment; you will be responsible for championing the lean principles throughout the business and refining the manufacturing operation. You will be responsible for:

* Developing and implementing a robust manufacturing strategy based on first principles.

* Driving operational improvements through the facility to meet the overall strategic objectives of the business.

* Being visible and present on the manufacturing floor to understand the complex processes and to facilitate change.

* Developing high performing teams who are aligned, and improvement led

* Producing and improving the production and capacity planning models.

* Working cross functionally, as a key member of the SMT, in supporting and facilitating the growth of the business,

An experienced manufacturing professional, you will be proven in manufacturing management in a growing multi process manufacturing business. You will have experience of improving production processes, you will be improvement driven and with a strong coaching and leadership style. You will have shop floor presence and will drive improvement strategies from grass roots. Engaging, proactive and driven will all be part of your behavioural profile. It is important that you are a hands-on leader, one who leads by example and operates in a collaborative way. Experience in the building products sector would be an advantage but is not essential.
