Hours:             37.5 hours per week  this will include on call rota (once every 5-6 weeks)

Our client, a specialist Domestic Violence charity based in Hampshire, is looking to recruit a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker to work collaboratively with the right families, at the right time, respecting families’ rights, following guidance and law.

Synopsis of duties:

To work within the terms of the MARAC, HRDA and Court Protocols as required.
To work as part of the staff team providing an expert service dedicated to those affected by domestic abuse. This includes responsibility for providing advocacy, information, emotional and practical support with a responsibility for maintaining a focus on keeping victims and their children safe.
Providing one-to-one services to those living in the community including safety planning and risk assessments
Providing advocacy and support for victims and survivors of domestic abuse
Providing parenting and family support
Contribute to promoting victim’s safety by supporting women/men to construct a realistic safety plan. Whilst the needs of the non-abusive partner and children are often similar this is not always the case: the safety of children will always be paramount.
Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
Ensuring the child is receiving one-to-one services including safety planning and risk assessments, as well as 1:1 support to help them to come to terms with their experiences of domestic abuse.
Delivering 1:1 support to children instigating DVA on their parents and/or refer to appropriate external agency.
Identifying the primary perpetrator by carrying out assessments of the perpetrating behaviours and working with the alleged perpetrators to motivate them to engage with a longer-term behaviour change programme (ADAPT / Caring Dads).
Work closely with professionals in the Family Safeguarding Team, the police, probation service, mental health service MARACS and MAPPA to ensure that increases in risk of harm are escalated rapidly and a multi-agency plan is in place.
Collaboratively working with The Hampton Trust, who deliver Respect Accredited community perpetrator programmes.
Establish a “Caring Dads” Group for low-risk men to teach parenting skills and encourage positive parenting, evaluate, and report on the impact of the group, drawing in other professionals from the commissioned/non-commissioned perpetrator services as required. Essential Requirements:

An understanding and awareness of the needs of women, men and children of all ages affected by domestic abuse.
An understanding and knowledge of child protection/safeguarding and the ability to work within national, local and organisational guidelines
A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicleSupporting Futures Consulting acts as both an employer and an agency
