About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? A brilliant SEND School in Coventry is seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team. Their school caters to children aged 11-16, many of whom have social, emotional, and behavioural needs and have faced exclusion or extended periods out of education. Their mission is to be ‘every pupil’s forever school,’ helping learners re-engage with their education and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students in their learning and development, both academically and socially.
Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
Confidently handle behavioural issues and support students in managing their emotions.
Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment.
Support the delivery of the KS2/KS3 national curriculum.
Requirements:
CACHE/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification is ideal, but unqualified candidates with strong SEND experience will be considered.
• Experience working with children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Confidence in handling behavioural issues.
• Strong understanding of the KS2/KS3 national curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
