Are you a skilled Level 3 Teaching Assistant with experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEND) and those with behavioural challenges? Empowering Learning is recruiting for multiple exciting opportunities across primary schools in Sefton. These positions are temporary but have the potential to lead to permanent roles, providing stability and growth in a rewarding educational environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing targeted support to students who require additional assistance due to SEND and behavioural needs. Working closely with the class teacher and the SENCO, you will support students in accessing the curriculum, managing their behaviour, and achieving their full potential. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping create an environment where all children feel safe, engaged, and motivated to learn.

Key Features of the Role:

Work closely with children with SEND, providing personalised support and interventions

Assist in managing behaviour, implementing strategies to create a positive learning environment

Provide one-to-one support or small group sessions for students with additional learning needs

Help adapt learning materials and teaching methods to suit individual needs

Track and monitor the progress of students, offering feedback to teachers and parents

Foster strong, positive relationships with children, encouraging independence and self-confidence

Requirements:

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

Recent experience working in UK primary schools, ideally in SEND and behaviour support roles

A good understanding of the various types of SEND, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and more

Knowledge of strategies for behaviour management and supporting children with additional needs

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff

A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children
