Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

Perform routine and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems, including conveyors, shredders, balers, and other recycling machinery.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns efficiently to minimize downtime.
Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is operating at peak efficiency.
Collaborate with the operations team to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, including work completed, parts used, and time spent.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment upgrades.
Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, ideally within a recycling, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing heavy industrial machinery.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
Knowledge of health and safety standards and safe work practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) preferred.
