Job Description:

As a Yard Operative, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our yard. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to build a career in the building supplies industry, with full training provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the efficient handling and delivery of materials.

Responsibilities:

Receiving and Handling Materials: Unload deliveries, check for accuracy, and store materials in the correct locations.
Customer Service: Assist customers with loading and unloading their vehicles, providing exceptional service and product knowledge.
Inventory Management: Keep track of stock levels, report shortages, and help maintain an organized and tidy yard.
Order Preparation: Pick and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Maintenance: Conduct regular checks and maintenance of yard equipment and machinery.
Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and customers.
Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the yard.Requirements:

Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual labour, including lifting and carrying heavy materials.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling orders and maintaining inventory.
Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and with a strong work ethic.
Team Player: Ability to work well within a team and support others.
Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to undergo training and develop skills within the building supplies industry.
Desirable: Ability to speak a second language.Working Hours:

Monday - Friday: 6:30am - 3:00pm
1 in 3 Saturdays: 7:00am - 11:00amCompensation:

Hourly Rate: £11.50 per hour
