Role: Transport Operations Manager
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £42,000 - £47,500 + Bonus, Premium's, Additional Benefits
Shift: Sunday - Wednesday (Day's)
As the Transport Operations Manager, you will oversee daily transport operations, ensuring the smooth running of activities across your shift. You’ll be responsible for leading a team of drivers and staff, managing fleet compliance, and driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of drivers and transport staff, ensuring they meet performance targets and work to the highest standards.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure all transport activities comply with regulations, including driver hours, vehicle checks, and health and safety protocols.
* Route Planning: Oversee effective route planning to optimize delivery schedules and ensure cost-effective operations.
* KPI Management: Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, fuel efficiency, and driver performance, making improvements where necessary.
* Problem-Solving: Quickly and efficiently resolve any operational issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
* Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse teams and senior management to ensure operational goals are met.
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Transport Operations Manager with a solid background in transport operations within a 3PL or logistics environment.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Proven Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the logistics sector is essential.
* Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop your team.
* Operational Knowledge: A solid understanding of transport planning, fleet management, and transport compliance (WTD, tachographs, etc.).
* Problem-Solving Abilities: A hands-on approach with the ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong Communication: Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with both your team and senior management
