Principal People are working with a highly respected principal contractor that operates across civil engineering and utility services to recruit a SHE Lead to oversee and drive forward the health and safety function across critical infrastructure projects.
The role is covering the infrastructure works across the east midlands with an office near Peterborough. The successful SHE Lead will be reporting to the HSE Manager whilst managing a small team of SHE Advisors.

The Successful Safety, Health and Environment Lead will be responsible for:

Assist the SHE Manager in delivering strategic health, safety, and wellbeing priorities.
Provide leadership and support to team members, ensuring delivery teams receive expert advice and guidance.
Review and develop health, safety, and wellbeing documentation across pre-construction and construction phases.
Lead safety inspections, and incident investigations, and provide HSE training to ensure compliance with the HSE management system.
Identify health and safety risks, offering innovative solutions and pragmatic mitigation strategies.
Champion a high-performance culture that prioritises doing the right thing and fosters an injury-free environment. The Successful Safety, Health and Environment Lead will hold;

As a minimum:
NEBOSH General or equivalent.
Experience in the infrastructure or construction sector.
Desirably:

NEBOSH Construction or Diploma or equivalent.
Certified Member of IOSH.
CDM experience and knowledge. In return, the Successful Safety, Health and Environment Lead will receive:

Salary up to £65,000.
Annual leave of 26 days + Bank Holidays.
£5,000 + Car Allowance + Mileage.
Pension contribution of up to 12%.
