Job Title: Civils and Structural Design Engineer
Location: Stone (with frequent site visits)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
Permanent/Contract: Permanentor Contract
Salary: up to £52k
About the Role:
We are seeking a Civils and Structural Design Engineer to support a range of projects across multiple business sectors. You will be responsible for producing conceptual and detailed design packs for structural steelwork and groundworks, ensuring compliance with client specifications and managing design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a Civils/Structural Design Engineer for major and minor projects.
Develop design documentation for structural steelwork and groundworks.
Collaborate with internal teams (sales, production, installation, and commissioning) to address engineering challenges.
Attend client meetings for design reviews and project updates.
Ensure all design records are maintained according to quality assurance processes.
Manage and audit civil and structural sub-contractors.
Conduct site visits to oversee civil works and ensure adherence to design requirements.
Review and approve supplier documentation for compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Additional Responsibilities:
Work with suppliers to confirm specifications and performance criteria.
Contribute to the development of internal procedures related to civil and structural designs.
Assist in creating standard documentation templates for design and installation records.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
HNC in Civils/Structural Engineering.
Minimum of 4 years' design experience.
Understanding of HAZID, HAZOP, and HAZCON processes.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
BEng in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience in the UK Gas Industry, including knowledge of G17, G35, and PS6 processes.
