Engineer - Transport NSIP and Technical Team
We are currently assisting our client in the south east to find an experienced Engineer to join their Transport NSIP and Technical Team.
The main duties of the experienced Engineer are:
·Provide effective technical approval services for Sizewell C and other NSIPs, ensuring that roads are adopted as highways in the future while reducing maintenance risks for the Highway Authority.
·Negotiate with developers and consultants on technical solutions for road layouts, junction design, drainage, footpaths, cycleways, and street lighting.
·Accurately record technical approval details, including drawing references and technical reports, using Mastergov or other relevant software.
·Liaise with SCC Legal to complete Section 38 and 278 agreements under the Highways Act 1980.
·Keep up to date with policy, legislation, national guidance, health and safety requirements, and technical specifications to ensure correct application by the team.
·Assist in the discharge of planning requirements for NSIPs.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
·NVQ Level 6 (graduate) or Level 5 (foundation degree), or considerable highway design experience.
·Working towards a professional qualification (desirable).
·Membership of a relevant professional organisation (desirable).
·Understanding of section 38 and 278 agreements, transport legislation, and technical frameworks related to planning and highway engineering (desirable).
·Strong verbal and written communication skills for interpreting complex technical and legislative information and delivering reports and recommendations.
·Ability to manage time effectively and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop solutions to complex issues.
·Political awareness and understanding of local government operations.
