Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants with experience in supporting children with a broad range of SEN. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students, helping them thrive in an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* One-on-One and Group Support: Assist students with autism, mental health challenges, and learning difficulties in both one-on-one and group settings, adapting teaching methods to meet their specific needs.
* Promote Emotional Wellbeing: Provide emotional support to students, helping to create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that fosters confidence and self-esteem.
* Behavioural Support: Utilise techniques to manage challenging behaviour, helping students develop coping strategies and improve social skills.
Requirements:
* Experience in Supporting Students with a range of Special Education Needs.
* Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and other learning difficulties.
* Knowledge of mental health support strategies relevant to young people.
* Patience, empathy, and a calm, approachable demeanor.
* All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check
Desirable Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
* Additional qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN), Autism, or Mental Health.
* Experience with alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton) or behavioural interventions.
