Property Financial Controller. OUR CLIENT is a private family office who have been investing in office space across main cities of the UK and US for around many years. They offer a flexible and intimate working environment. Due to further expansion, they are looking for a Property Financial Controller for their UK business.

THE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES for the Property Financial Controller will include:

Preparing the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the UK real estate portfolio.
Performing variance analysis and budget forecasting.
Overseeing all aspects of the property accounting including service charge accounts, budgets, rent rolls and maintenance of the lease schedules.
Reviewing and making sure the tenant ledgers have been reconciled, handling any payment queries and ensuring all rents / services charges have been collected.
Liaising regularly with the external managing agents and asset managers.
Submitting VAT returns.
Liaising with advisors in relation to corporation tax.
Reviewing and ensuring submission of statutory accounts.

THE PERSON and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS for the Property Financial Controller will have:

At least 10 years of experience in property accounting.
Strong IT Skills including the use of Excel and an accounting system.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and help grow the team.
Understanding / experience of UK accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP is desirable).
Experience / knowledge of operational real estate is helpful.
