HR Manager
Fresh Produce Manufacturing
* Site based role , Mon to Fri, (remote location so you MUST drive!)
* Shrewsbury, salary circa £40K + Benefits
Our client is looking for a proactive and commercially focused HR Manager. This role will see you will provide an adaptable and high-quality HR service across site. You’ll also deliver hands-on support to managers and employees, promoting best practices and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation.
The Company
Based in the beautiful and rural countryside this family-run business is a well establish grower and supplier of fresh produce for the major UK supermarkets. Currently going through a major transition of growth they are seeking a brand new HR manager to support the Directors with their vision.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the first point of contact for HR support, advising operational managers on HR matters including absence management, conduct and capability issues, grievances, and recruitment.
* Guide managers through employee relations cases, offering sound advice that aligns with internal policies, employment law, and best practices.
* Lead the management of absence-related casework, including long-term sickness. This includes advising managers, facilitating case review meetings, and ensuring timely resolution.
* Oversee recruitment for factory-based roles and coordinate recruitment for all non-factory positions, managing the process from start to finish.
* Ensure all employees receive the necessary training for their roles and develop succession plans for key positions.
* Manage the employee induction process, ensuring it is comprehensive and meets the needs of the business and technical standards.
* Support managers in conducting the Performance Development Process to a high standard.
* Stay current with employment legislation and HR best practices, sharing knowledge to enhance the team’s service offering and business operations.
* Participate in additional HR projects and activities as required by the business.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Degree-level education and CIPD Level 5 qualification or above.
* A minimum of 3 years’ generalist HR experience in a manufacturing or retail environment.
* Strong knowledge and practical application of employment law.
* Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
