The Role
Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Property / Building Surveyor to survey social housing properties in Hampshire with a particular focus on kitchens and bathrooms.
You’ll carry out visual inspections of interiors and exteriors, focusing on key components like kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors, roofs, and gutters. No intrusive work or furniture moving is required, and tenant interaction will be minimal and respectful, with identification provided on-site.
This role is central to maintaining the health and safety of social housing stock and directly contributes to planned improvement programmes, ensuring residents continue to live in safe, modern, and well-maintained homes.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Conduct non-intrusive, visual surveys of kitchens, bathrooms, and other building elements
* Record condition, age, and estimated lifespan of property features
* Provide data to help landlords plan future repair and refurbishment works
* Liaise professionally with tenants, explaining the purpose of visits when needed
* Ensure all inspections are completed accurately and efficiently, following health and safety protocols
Person specifications:
* Experience in property or building surveying, ideally within social housing
* Strong knowledge of stock condition surveys and planned maintenance cycles
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to assess property condition accurately
* Good interpersonal skills and professional conduct when dealing with residents
* A full UK driving license and willingness to travel within Hampshire
