Senior / Principal Hardware Systems Engineer

Diamond Search Recruitment is thrilled to represent our client based in Ashford, Kent in recruiting for a Principle Hardware Engineer. It's an incredibly exciting period for the business! Key Responsibilities

* Lead the digital/analogue electronics and firmware design of products from concept through to production

* Develop system architecture and design concepts

* Work with Altium Designer CAD tool for schematic and board layout

* Prototype, test, and troubleshoot hardware systems

* Ensure EMC and electrical safety compliance

* Capture specifications and requirements

* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

* Support technology transfer to manufacturing and liaise with product management, business development, and operations teams

What We’re Looking For

* Degree (2:1 or higher) in a relevant discipline

* 8+ years of experience in digital/analogue electronics design (exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered)

* Experience in embedded programming (C, FPGA VHDL essential)

* Proficiency in C++, .NET, C#, Java, or Python is a plus

* Familiarity with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium preferred)

* Understanding of EMC compliance design techniques

* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work hands-on with hardware

* Excellent communication and client-facing skills

* A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation
