And right now, we’re developing new capabilities to support the next generation of nuclear reactors. We are looking for a Programme Controls Lead in our Business Development team to support our UK Next Generation Fuels programme. Ideally based at our Capenhurst site you’ll create, implement and manage the processes required to track and monitor all elements at a programme level. This will include programme level risk management, forecasting, integrated schedule reporting and all KPIs required for internal and external government reporting.

What will your day look like?

• Develop, implement and maintain appropriate programme level governance processes and procedures in order to support Programme Management, governance and reporting requirements.
• Work with Project and Group professionals to ensure that programme processes are efficient and fully integrated with existing company project processes.
• Implement programme management processes and tools to be able to maintain, track and manage the overall programme progress and metrics – working with Project Managers and other work stream leads to ensure alignment across the full programme.
• Work with Government Affairs and Finance teams to develop, implement and manage appropriate government funding governance process to ensure that the Next Generation Fuels programme progresses in line with the agreed strategy and is reported and communicated to key stakeholders as required
• Develop, implement, manage and maintain programme level risk and opportunities process – ensuring alignment with Project risk management and Group risk management processes
• Ensure robust processes are in place to monitor, track, report progress and submit claims against government funding grants, ensuring that funding is maximised and managed compliantly.
• Develop and manage any documentation required at a Programme level in association with the Project Sponsor role
• Build, manage and develop the resources required to carry out the programme controls function.

To be great at this role you will need most or all of the following:
• Strong capabilities in both programme and project management processes
• Strong interpersonal with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders to integrate processes
• Demonstrable strategic programme management experience coordinating a programme of works in the excess of £100m
• Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing new processes and procedures relating to the governance of projects and programmes.
• The ability to analyse and challenge data and information
• Ability to generate performance reporting and tracking metrics
• Ability to set up and manage governance and reporting templates for project and financial reporting
• Knowledge of UK government funding requirements and governance
• The ability to think strategically and ensure that programme metrics are aligned with the overall programme objectives
• Degree-level education – equivalent experience of qualifications will be considered
• Excellent presentation and communication skills

You will also need:
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Must be able to obtain the required level of security clearance
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
