Trainee Office Assistant

Location: Musselburgh, EH21 6SYSalary: £17,000-£24,000 per annum, DOEContract: Full time, PermanentBenefits: 29.5 days holiday, company pension scheme and consistent commitment to your own going training and development!

Trainee Office Assistant – The Role

Quantum Packaging is a rapidly growing manufacturing company based in Musselburgh, East Lothian. We manufacture packaging solutions for the food sector and our products are exported worldwide.This is an exciting time to join us given our pace of growth and is an opportunity for an entry level administrator who seeks a role with a wide variety of functions.

It is a role that will evolve quickly over time. Being a small team, you will provide support to the office by performing various administrative tasks. This includes answering phone calls, taking messages, using office equipment, maintaining files, managing supplies, and entering data.

Key Responsibilities;

•  Production order processing•  Organise, scan and format mail•  Purchase order processing•  Sales order processing•  Ensure office area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material•  Maintaining office equipment like copiers and fax machines for smooth office functionality•  Booking deliveries and arranging transport•  Reception duties to include answering incoming calls•  Make labels for production product traceability•  Welcoming clients/visitors and ensuring factory questionnaires are completed•  Responsible for consumables stock keeping•  Conducting research and compiling data upon request•  Ad-hoc auditing of materials provided by suppliers to assure quality before incorporation into the product•  On occasions, help out in the factory where needed.•  Light accounting duties•  Assessing the product's quality by testing features such as product weight and thickness•  This list is not exclusive or exhaustive.

Key Skills & Experience;

•  Good communication skills.•  Dedicated and committed.•  Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.•  Previous experience desirable MUST have a strong work ethic.•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office•  Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g., fax machines and printers)•  Professional attitude and appearance•  Solid written and verbal communication skills•  Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise•  Excellent organizational skills•  Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks•  Customer service attitude•  High school qualifications in English and Maths: additional certification in Office Management is a plus.
