Job Title: Mechanic Coach

Location: Stafford

Hours: Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hrs per week, Mon-Fri)

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE

Role Overview:

Are you a seasoned Light Vehicle Coach or Technician seeking a new opportunity? We have an exciting opening for a Light Vehicle Coach or an individual with extensive occupational competency looking to make the move into delivery. Our client is a well-established training provider in the UK, with over 30 years of experience in Study Programmes and Apprenticeships. Operating from 13 locations across the West Midlands and East of England, offering a wide range of education options to young people, including 16-18 study programmes, pre-apprenticeships, provision for learners with high needs, apprenticeships, and 14-16 alternative provision. They have been consistently rated as 'Good' by Ofsted in all areas of provision.

No teaching or tutoring qualifications are necessary; they will provide all the required training. All you need is a wealth of experience that you're willing to share with learners to help them succeed. Your role will involve working with young people, supporting them in developing essential skills for their future. As a Light Vehicle (LV) Coach, you will work toward and achieve targets set by the client and the ESFA related to various aspects of the Apprenticeship by delivering new Motor vehicle standards across the region. You will be responsible for embedding Functional Skills (Maths and English) curriculum standards effectively in all sessions, as well as conducting face-to-face and remote teaching assessments through Google Meets.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop the abilities, knowledge, skills, behaviors, and confidence of each learner through coaching, training, and assessment.

Support learners in working confidently, effectively, and independently in life and work as part of the apprenticeship program.

Conduct 2nd stage sign-up procedures as required.

Regularly check and maintain 'off the job' training records on E-portfolios to ensure they form a complete record of a minimum of 20% of apprentices' paid hours.

Regularly assess learner progress in accordance with awarding organization, End Point Assessment, and Ofsted/CIF criteria.

Ensure that learners are involved in the decision-making process, either as individuals or in groups, through reviews, learner voice forums, and surveys.
Skills and Knowledge:

Level 3 vocational qualification (or evidence of occupational competence)

TA element of TAQA (or A1)

Experience in delivering Functional Skills or Maths and English to Level 2

Ability to work to deadlines/targets and under pressure

Resilience and professionalism, with the ability to work with challenging behavior

Flexibility and a creative approach to meeting targets

Full, clean UK Driving License
