Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: NW London
Salary: To £50,000, based on experience
Are you an experienced leader in children’s residential care, passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives? We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Manager to oversee the operation and management of a 4-bed Children’s Residential Home. In this role, you will provide crucial support to children and young people in care, ensuring their physical, emotional, and safety needs are met in a secure, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the Home to Quality Standards
Ensure the children’s home is fully compliant with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, providing a safe, supportive, and positive environment that promotes the welfare of children and young people.
* Achieve and maintain an OFSTED rating of Good or Outstanding
* Create an environment where children can reach their potential, emotionally and physically.
* Leadership & Staff Management
Lead, inspire, and develop your team of residential staff, providing effective management and direction to ensure appropriate staffing levels and continuous professional development.
* Line manage allocated staff and ensure the home is well-staffed and supported at all times.
* Care Planning & Safeguarding
Ensure that care plans for each young person are developed, maintained, and reviewed in line with Children Looked After guidelines.
* Oversee the progression of care plans, ensuring regular reviews and meetings take place.
* Cultural Sensitivity & Individual Care
Create a care environment that embraces and integrates race, spirituality, gender, disability, and sexual orientation, tailoring care to meet the individual needs of each young person.
* Operational & Budget Management
Work closely with senior management to manage and maintain the financial resources for the home, ensuring budgets are adhered to and financial records are up-to-date.
* Oversee the day-to-day operations, including supply ordering, administrative procedures, and ensuring the home is properly maintained.
* Compliance & Health & Safety
Ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations, including regular audits and fire safety checks, and ensure all staff are trained and compliant with procedures.
* Community & Stakeholder Engagement
Represent the homes and young people within the wider community and with external agencies to advocate for and enhance the lives of those in care.
* Engage with local communities to ensure the home integrates effectively.
* Quality Assurance & Audits
Conduct monthly and quarterly quality control checks and regulatory audits to ensure high standards are maintained in every aspect of care.
Requirements:
* Experience: Previous experience in managing children’s residential homes with a focus on safeguarding, care planning, and achieving regulatory compliance.
* Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.
* Skills: Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication, and a passion for working with children and young people.
