We are representing one of the UK's leading independent Building Services Contractors that specialise in several sectors including commercial, data centres, healthcare, education and residential. With a traditional engineering mindset and reinvestment into new principals, the business has an annual turnover in excess of £150M+, operating nationwide. A huge bulk of their turnover comes from repeat business which is a standard they maintain by ensuring high standards are upkept across the board.
Projects:
* This is an amazing chance to work on iconic commercial projects within their Major Projects Division managing projects which range in value from £25M to £50M MEP value.
The Role:
Based in London, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting to the Operations Director on large complex projects in a senior management role. You will be leading the Planning function across their Major Projects Division and will be involved in the process from tender through to final commercial handover.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* M&E planning, monitoring and reporting on large complex projects or a number of smaller projects within a team environment.
* Develop and coordinate work sequences including interfaces between construction, M&E and commissioning activities, services installation, construction, procurement and design.
* Understanding the project requirements including client brief & business processes.
* Identifying, managing, and mitigating risk, including programme risk.
* Review and combine specialist subcontractors’ programmes to ensure they meet the project specifics.
* Prepare tender programmes, tender event schedules, and preconstruction programmes including the design, coordination, procurement and manufacture process for both traditional contracts and their clients internal MEP delivery through sharing input into the production of regular progress reports.
* Take responsibility for the management of the programme through preconstruction and construction stages in line with company procedures, alongside organising and chairing programme workshop meetings with the project and subcontractor teams.
* Ensure effective communication and accurate records are maintained.
* Maintaining a professional approach with clients and their professional teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
* Draw up plans and present schedules of work through visual aids
Ideal Candidate:
* A background within M&E building contracting you will have a strong knowledge of construction processes and sequences together with a good commercial understanding of contracts, procurement routes and risk management.
* Experience in M&E Planning & Management in a management position.
* A strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services techniques, methods, processes and standards with the ability to work within an integrated multidisciplined team.
* Multiple sectors & major project experience within central London.
* Software experience in ASTA PowerProjects is essential and software experience in MS Projects and P6 Primavera is ideal
