Senior Works Manager - Major Infrastructure Project - Plymouth
Randstad are recruiting for an experienced Senior Works Manager to join a major infrastructure project at Devonport Docks in Plymouth. This is a contract role offering a competitive rate and the opportunity to work on a critical project within a leading joint venture.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of construction operations on a specific section of the project, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Lead and manage a team of site staff, including engineers, supervisors, and operatives, providing guidance and support.
Implement and maintain safety procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Identify and manage potential risks and issues, proposing solutions and corrective actions.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and safety records.* Work closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager to ensure project goals are met effectively.
Essential Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Senior Works Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry.
A strong understanding of construction methods and processes, particularly within the infrastructure sector.* Experience working on complex projects, ideally within a naval dockyard or similar environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience working with leading construction companies in the UK.
* Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
* Experience with construction software, such as AutoCAD and BIM.
