Senior / Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services / MEP)

Salary to £60k dependent on experience

37 hour week, 25 days holiday, pension

This role is to join a specialist building services design consultancy with a real emphasis on sustainability, they work on projects such as commercial, hospitality, hotels, heritage, education and leisure.

Responsibilities

* Undertake Electrical design work consisting of surveys, design, drawings and specifications for projects. E.g., undertake calculations on cable sizing, lighting selections etc

* Work in conjunction with other design team members

* Ensure the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative requirements.

* Participate in the preparation of budget costs

* Attend site as part of the construction phase and participate in site meetings.

* Preparation of snagging lists, valuations (if required) and inspections.

* Maintain familiarity with current techniques, industry developments, etc.

* Support and mange junior design engineers as required.

Experience Required

* Experience as an Electrical Design Engineer dealing with designs from client briefs to completion.

* A minimum of 3 years design experience in building design systems.

* Experience in electrical system design and coordination for office and residential buildings.

* Fully conversant with British Standards

* Confident user of a range of software including Amtech, Dialux and Relux.

* A degree in Electrical Engineering would be beneficial but not essential
