Bates & Bradshaw are recruiting on behalf of a leading Construction & Maintenance company in Hull. As one of the top building, repairs, and maintenance contractors in the region, they employ around 500 people and have an impressive £50m turnover – with ambitious plans for future growth.
The Role
We are looking for experienced Plumbers to carry out a mix of domestic and commercial work, including maintenance, repairs, and new construction projects. The role involves:
* Routine & reactive maintenance – Carrying out plumbing repairs to a high standard.
* 1st, 2nd & 3rd fix work – Installing and maintaining plumbing systems on construction contracts.
* Customer interaction – Discussing requirements and delivering excellent service.
* Working to specifications – Following drawings and work sheets accurately.
* Mobile working – Attending multiple job locations daily with minimal supervision.
* On-call participation – Being part of the company’s out-of-hours response team.
* Mentoring apprentices – Supporting trainees in developing their skills.
* Admin tasks – Completing all necessary paperwork accurately.
* Driving company vehicles – Ensuring safe and responsible driving.
Qualifications & Experience
* Plumbing Expertise – Proven experience in repairs, maintenance & new installations.
* Qualifications – Time-served or NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds in Plumbing (proof required).
* Tools & Equipment – Own hand tools required; all power tools provided.
* Full UK driving licence – Essential for the role.
* CSCS Card – Desirable but not essential.
Earnings & Working Hours
* 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday).
* Zero sickness bonus – £600 per year, paid bi-annually.
* On-call rota – Standby pay of £700 per full week.
* Overtime – Paid at premium rates.
* Productivity bonus scheme – Additional earnings based on performance.
