Role Profile

My client is an established engineering business in Stockport, looking to appoint a dynamic, forward-thinking Production Supervisor to lead their in-house Machine Shop operation.

There is a real opportunity to develop, improve and grow the workshop area, therefore if you if you have a proven track record of leading change management programmes within similar production environments, then this could be the perfect role for you!

Key responsibilities:

Oversee all customer orders completed in the Machine Shop / Workshop
Provide day to day leadership for the team, from experienced staff to apprentices
Allocate tasks to the team and ensure jobs are delivered within the planned timeframe
Arrange maintenance of machinery and liaise with relevant contractors
Maintain appropriate inventory levels for spare parts, consumables and tooling
Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiencies within existing operation and suitably prepare the department for significant planned growth

Skills & Experience:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Excellent leadership skills and a proven track record in a similar supervisory role
Previous experience successfully implementing and leading change
Proven track record working to and/or introducing KPIs and metrics
Good IT / analytical / reporting skillsExperience working in a machine shop / workshop or with engineered components and/or mechanical engineering background would be an advantage.
