DevOps Engineer – Up to 50k with Bonus and Excellent Benefits – Cardiff (Hybrid)
Joining Ogi is a unique opportunity to work within an innovative Welsh business and one of the fastest-growing companies in Wales.

You may have known us previously as Spectrum Internet and NSUK, but we've rebranded to Ogi - a new name that reflects our commitment to serving Welsh communities. We’ve received a multi-million-pound investment and are currently in the thick of our large-scale full-fibre internet deployment across South Wales!

As we scale our operations, we're excited to introduce a new role for a versatile DevOps Engineer who will play a crucial part in streamlining and automating our software development lifecycle—covering the creation, testing, deployment, and support of our applications. You'll be instrumental in bringing more processes in-house, balancing both development and operational support while working closely with suppliers and engaging in various tech projects.

About you…
We’re looking for a tech enthusiast with a broad range of skills, a passion for learning, ideally in an Agile environment, who’s keen to grow and get stuck in. Previous DevOps experience is valuable, but if you’ve not had the title “DevOps” before that’s ok, what matters most is your enthusiasm, eagerness to dive in, and a results-driven attitude.

Our restructured IT team focuses on DevOps, providing flexibility to work across development, testing, support, documentation, and end-user training. While your primary focus will be streamlining and automating software applications, you'll also adapt to various needs in our start-up environment.

In this start-up role, expect to juggle both development and operations tasks, with the balance shifting as needed. We use Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) packages, focusing on configuration, customisation, and API integration. Experience with Java and Microsoft products like Dynamics365, Azure, Power Apps, and DataBricks is beneficial, but we value enthusiasm and quick learning ability over extensive experience.

We’re looking for problem-solvers who are ready to roll up their sleeves and tackle all aspects of tech. Whether you're an experienced developer keen to explore operations or vice versa, your versatility and curiosity will be key. At Ogi, we value hands-on experience and a genuine interest in technology.

Other tech/experience we’re looking for includes -
* Proven experience in software development, IT operations, or a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of programming languages, such as Java, Python or Ruby.
* Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
* Experience in providing IT Support services and structured approaches to support (e.g. ITIL)
* Working knowledge of various APIs, including JSON-based
* Familiarity with security best practices and the ability to implement security measures in the software development lifecycle
* Experience with DevOps tools and technologies, such as Microsoft DevOps, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible

What you’ll be doing…
Whether you're diving into development and systems integration on various IT projects, handling UAT and bug fixes for new systems, resolving incidents and issues in IT operations, or collaborating with PMs to grasp and address new requirements, no two days will be the same.

Other day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Working at a Development/Systems Integration level on our portfolio of IT projects and Small Works request
* Unit Testing of code (where applicable), Functional Testing, Systems Integration Testing and supporting User Acceptance Testing
* Working with the IT Architect to understand the Enterprise Architecture, Data Model and peer-review Solution Designs
* Documentation of applications and systems
* Collaborate with external vendors as needed, working within a hybrid resourcing model to augment our in-house team.
* Manage and support OSS/BSS systems, including provisioning, activation, network management, and inventory management.
* Handle data warehouse tasks, ETL processes, and analytics.
* Maintain and enhance a range of internal and external web applications and portals, including Microsoft PowerApps.

Next Steps?
Please get in touch for more information and a confidential chat, even if you don't tick all the requirements but think you'd be a good fit.
