API Integration Lead

Salary: £48,000 - £52,000 (+ excellent benefits including 28% pension contributions)

We are looking to recruit an Integration Lead for a technology driven public sector organisation. In this role you will guide the design, development, and deployment of scalable integration solutions, collaborating with developers and analysts to deliver premium results. You'll play a key role in transforming IT systems and leading integration efforts across various large-scale projects.

This is a hybrid role and you will be required to work 3 days a week on site in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable integration solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and project managers, to deliver high-quality integration outcomes.
Ensure seamless data exchange using API design principles and best practices, while maintaining a strong focus on security.
Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and drive technical innovation within the organisation.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the technical team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.Skills & Experience:

In-depth knowledge of API design principles (RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, etc.), and experience with integration tools such as API gateways and message brokers.
Strong understanding of data security principles and integration best practices.
Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex integration projects on time.
Experience working on large-scale transformation programs in core banking, digital transformation, or business transformation is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.Technical Requirements:

Familiarity with integration tools and technologies (e.g., API gateways, ETL tools).
Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, and cloud platforms.
Experience in architect/designer roles, particularly in banking or payment systems.
Strong experience with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between development, operations, and security teams
