Job Title: Construction Site Agent
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Contract: Freelance Role - 3 Months Initially
Rate: £35-£40 per hour PAYE (Inside IR35)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Construction Site Agent to join our Construction Team in Ipswich. This role is integral to the successful delivery of all Planned Works under the Suffolk Highways contract. The position is initially for three months, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage construction schemes on-site, ensuring safety, timeliness, budget adherence, and compliance with HSEQ standards.

Efficiently organize and allocate labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources.

Liaise with key stakeholders such as network managers, local authorities, community groups, and designers.

Ensure Construction Phase Plans, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place before commencing work and maintained throughout.

Ensure all in-house and subcontractor site personnel are competent and fully trained.

Take ownership of the commercial performance of the project in collaboration with commercial teams.

Maintain accurate records (site diary, work activities, resource allocation, as-built information, etc.).

Support the Scheme Delivery Manager in developing construction programs, phasing plans, and method statements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Supply Chain partners.

Assist in Early Contractor Involvement and buildability assessments, including traffic management considerations.

Participate in Value Management processes and Value Engineering reviews.

Ensure compliance with QSE processes, procedures, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

IOSH / SMSTS Certification

CSCS Card

Full, clean UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

HNC or Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering (Not essential)
