Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? A wonderful school in Newham is seeking a caring and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:2 basis with two girls in Key Stage 1. You will be classroom-based and work closely with the support of two other staff members to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other special educational needs.
A strong understanding of strategies to help children with additional needs access the curriculum and develop key skills.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with other staff members.
A proactive and flexible approach to adapting to the needs of the children and classroom.Key responsibilities:
Providing one-to-one and small group support to two girls in Key Stage 1 with ASD.
Assisting with classroom activities and ensuring both children can engage and participate fully.
Working closely with the class teacher and two other support staff to implement strategies and interventions.
Supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of the pupils.
Promoting a positive and inclusive environment that fosters independence and confidence.
