Team Lead: Antimicrobial Resistance Project

Are you a motivated leader with a scientific or veterinary background? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment, driving evidence-based outcomes to shape policy and research? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

About the Role

(6 month temporary assignment with the potential to extend)

This is a pivotal role sitting within the heart of the UK’s efforts to combat AMR in animals, ensuring evidence underpins policy decisions and progress monitoring.

You’ll be providing leadership support, guidance, and oversight to a team of four subject matter experts – working on specific surveillance and research projects.

Whilst self-directed, with a strong focus on delivery, the team will welcome a leader to be the first port-of-call to bounce ideas with, collaborate and help with juggling priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of AMR experts to deliver new and existing evidence outcomes.

• Oversee AMR surveillance and research programmes, ensuring high-quality data informs policy and intervention strategies.

• Collaborate with external partners and government stakeholders, strengthening the UK’s AMR surveillance network.

• Shape and drive the AMR research programme, identifying evidence needs and delivering actionable insights.

What We’re Looking For

✔ A degree in a relevant scientific or veterinary field.

✔ An understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and its significance as a One Health issue.

✔ Experience leading and managing teams, providing motivation and direction.

✔ A track record of delivering outcomes through collaboration.

✔ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

The benefits of this assignment

• Play a key leadership role in a national initiative addressing one of the biggest global health challenges.

• Work alongside expert colleagues and cross-governmental teams.

• Enjoy a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your leadership makes a real impact.

If you’re ready to lead, collaborate, and drive change, we’d love to hear from you!

Apply today and help shape the future of AMR evidence and policy.
