Full time, Permanent role

I’m currently working with and on behalf of my client to secure a qualified, highly skilled and motivated Productive Workshop Controller for their workshop in the Newcastle area.

The company have been in operation for over 85 years, a family run and global company, so it gives you an indication of how well organised and how successful they have been and they strive to deliver exceptional customer services to all their customers, both externally and internally (their employees, this includes additional training as and when required)

The role:

You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet.

Day Shift: 4 days on the tools, 1 day in the office

* Routine (and preventative) maintenance

* MOT preparation

* Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards

* 6 (or 8) weekly inspections

* Correction of running defects

* Chassis and fabrication work

* Hydraulics and pneumatics

* Improvement of vehicle standards

* Electrical and wiring inspections and correction.

This opportunity would be well suited to an existing Workshop Controller or a HGV Technician with supervisory experience looking to come off the spanners. HGV Technicians who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics.

You can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment where your efforts will be rewarded. A skills shortage can be trained by way of upskilling. What cannot be trained however is the right attitude and the desire to give your clients a first-class service.

You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGV’s) road tankers, all manner of tractor units and trailer units, curtain sided and rigids.

Requirements:

Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.

Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable, as would an HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
