Job Title: Senior Accounting Analyst

Contract Term: 12 Months contract with possibility of extension.

Salary: £800 per day Umbrella
Location: London, SW1A

Hybrid: This position will be expected to come into the office 1 - 2 days a week.

Overview:

Our Client is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst with deep expertise in IFRS 9 to provide technical accounting advice and assist in the implementation of IFRS 9 across the organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in transitioning accounts, designing new financial processes and controls, and supporting the wider FRC Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

IFRS 9 Advisory: Provide expert technical accounting advice, including developing technical papers in line with governance requirements.
IFRS 9 Implementation: Leverage practical experience in implementing IFRS 9 and support the transition execution approach, including preparing Transition Accounts.
Excel Modelling: Build and develop complex Excel models for accounting and financial calculations to address data gaps, validate system outputs, and meet Programme needs.
Audit Engagement: Liaise with auditors, responding to queries and providing necessary documentation to ensure smooth audit processes.
System Design and Testing: Contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of future state financial systems, including General Ledger, IFRS 9 Calculation Engine, and Sub-Ledgers.
Finance Support: Work with the Finance team to ensure all reporting solutions meet IFRS 9 requirements, including the development and testing of Accounting Rules, the Chart of Accounts, and ledger posting.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders such as the FRC Delivery Partner and Auditors to ensure smooth transitions and issue resolution.
Training Support: Assist in preparing or presenting financial reporting topics at training sessions.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Strong knowledge of IFRS 9 and experience in providing technical accounting advice.
Proven practical experience in the implementation of IFRS 9, including developing transition accounts and supporting audits.
Proficiency in Excel modelling for accounting and financial calculations.
Experience in designing and testing financial systems, processes, and controls.Disclaimer:
